Mile 7?  Boy are you lucky....  I've only done 2 50's on Caisson, and he has argued with me on speed for the entire ride.  I've been working on dressage, and taking group clinics to try and get him over the "other horses - must race" mindset.  I plan on doing a 15 mile "fun ride" this October as a 'brain check', but I don't plan on entering any more 50's until I can get him to listen.  I'm all done having him pull my arms out (or just flat-out bolt) for the entire 50 miles.

ROFL...this is sooooo my horse DelPasso. He does the same thing... i believe his brain takes off at the start of a ride
and he finds it around mile 7 . hahahahah
