Pictures are enclosed of a Registered Paint Horse that was stolen from a farm in Flat Rock Illinois sometime during the night on Friday August 22. The farm is Located about 10 miles north of Lawrenceville, IL. It belonged to the Keith Caughran family, specifically their 13 year old daughter that has owned him for 5 years. This horse was her best friend and the family is devastated. The horse is the 2008 Crawford County all around 4-H Champion and was scheduled to go to the National Barrel Horse Assn. World Championship show this fall. The horse was in a pasture with a Standardbred, Whitssundaybeach. The halter was removed from "Whitts" and used to lead the horse "Max" out of the pasture through an area which was cut in the fence. This was not a random crime nor was there any ownership/money dispute over the horse. Limited information is available other than the neighbors though they saw a truck with a light colored bumper pull stock type trailer in the area. Please publish this wherever possible and send to anyone on mailing list that may be of assistance in locating this horse. Contact the Crawford County Sherrif's Department or the family at 618-584-3178 or 812-887-5179.
