[RC] ponying - k s swigart

What is the rule concerning ponying a horse on an
endurance ride?

There is no AERC rule about this.

It sure would be a great way to introduce a young
horse to endurance. I assume it isn't allowed because
of the chance someone would switch around which
one they were riding.

Since they got rid of the old rule (I think it was 14) about one person
not being allowed to enter and start the same ride on different horses,
there is no rule against this either, assuming you entered both horses
in the ride.

In fact, one of the reasons I didn't think it appropriate to get rid of
that rule is that it is now legal, in an AERC ride, to have one rider
enter two horses, pony one, ride the other, and switch off between them.
