[RC] gps/lost horse - susan golshani

I saw a gps thingy on a tv talk/news show. I looked it up on the
internet http://www.childsafetytech.com/gpstrackingdevice

This was to put in your childs back pack or pocket to locate the kid
if he/she should go missing. I thought at the time, it would be good
for endurance riders to follow them in real time in a race . The
Iditarod tried some devices to follow a dozen or so racers this
year... you could follow them on the google map system.... should work
for finding a lost horse, too, dependent on battery life. I don't know
what units the Iditarod used, but one could probably find out from
their techies.
