but would you still do that (and it's the right thing to do!) - IF  
you knew that it would cost you your shot at an entry to the World  
Championship? that is the position into which the FEI has placed all  
of the the CoC qualified horses. The rider will either fully disclose  
(and follow all the rules etc.) and loose their CoC, or hide things,  
putting the horses at risk. (remember, there was a font runner at the  
recent European Championship who disappeared from the ride 800 meters  
from the finish and was listed in the results as having been pulled  
for lameness at the preceding vet gate).

I've gotten the feeling that the FEI has put in place all these  
hurdles, nominally intended to make it safer for the horses, which  
have the effect of making it much more dangerous for the horse.
