[RC] heel pain - Kathleen A. Crothers

A couple of years ago I had a lot of heel pain especially when I first got up
from bed. I went to a foot specialist and had inserts made plus took some
anti-inflamatory drugs for a very short time. What really helped was riding
and not ever going without my shoes and inserts. When I did a 50 mi. ride my
heel pain was gone and if I continued to ride a lot it stayed away. Since a
lot of stretches you do for heel pain is to stretch the heel down I think
riding with the heel somewhat down helps a lot. But the riding has to be at a
posting trot I think since just sitting in the saddle at a walk made it worse.
I can't understand why your dr. would say no riding though. Riding cured my
heel pain. Happy Trails, Kathy
