Makes you wonder if the future of the horse isn't really sort of an overgrown toy poodle eventually...and what that says about humans and how they like to live.

You don't live here, I'm thinking....  You would have to actively search out the few remaining horse-butchers (assuming you wanted to) and what is interesting is that the walls of Paris are currently plastered with posters saying "Horses should look like this" (picture of racehorse/showjumper/kid's pony), not this (picture of unappetizing shrinkwrapped joint of meat).  I live in a rural community only one or two steps removed from peasantry and I don't know a single person who would voluntarily eat horsemeat - but then, they don't all have berets and twirly moustachios either, or cycle around in stripey jumpers with onions hanging around their necks ;-))
