I like to record the arrival time and the recovery time for every rider at
every vet check. These are documented on ride results that are mailed to all
riders after the event. In the interest of saving postage, this year I may do
it differently. I may save the results as a PDF and post it as an attachment
to an e-mail to ridecamp. That way, many will be able to see and print out
their results. Those who do not subscribe to ridecamp may request I send them
a copy. These results are very detailed, something I have done for MANY years.
Riders tell me they like the results printed this way because they can tell
how long it took their horses to recover at each VC and they can compare the
results to previous years. I keep the rider cards so I can assemble the data
from them. If a rider wants his, he can send me a note or e-mail and request
it after I have done the results.

There are those of us who like data and like to analyze data. For us,
even if others feel the data isn't relevant, ride cards are important. I'm a
retired database admin. 'Nuff said.
