Again, be careful what you read into the pull data.   There are many other factors that affect 100-mile pull rates besides preparedness--including but not limited to the fact that people often have to travel farther to 100-milers.

Yep and you would think the 100 mile horses were even more prepared than
the 50 mile horses - but alas the metabolic pull rate for the 100 mile
horses is a little over 3 times that of the 50's.
