RE: [RC] [RC] LDs Are Different - heidi

Be careful in reading too much into pull rate data.  On average, you are dealing with a more prepared and more experienced ridership on 50s, so you may be comparing apples and oranges.

Heidi

The pull rate stats are on David's side. While an individual horse may
have an issue between 25 and 50 miles - in general the pull rates for
the 25 to 50 are consistent with the mileage difference in the events.
In fact up through 80 miles the pull rates are pretty consistent.
However, for the 100, the (especially metabolic) pull rate is 3 to 4
times greater than in the 50. There is a quantum jump between 50 and 100
miles in th pulls that is not present between 25 and 50.
