Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] walker - Soli SorokinI've been able to ride a wide variety of walkers in the last few years since moving to TN. Just like normal horses, there is a huge variety in movement quality, timing, and sure-footedness. I have two here that are quick stepping, very sure footed, as well as being very smooth gaited. I had another who had large movement and was very powerful.....when she remembered to pick her feet up off the ground and not just lurch around like a slug, stumbling over her own feet as she went. Just as with any other horse, they are individuals. Pedigree may tell you what they should be, but look at what they are. ~S On Thu, Jul 3, 2008 at 9:07 PM, Nancy Sturm <sturmranch@xxxxxxxx> wrote: she was the most sure footed horse I have ever ridden. I had no problems flying downhill on rocky trails in the Colorado, Utah, Virginia, North Carolina, etc, or muddy downhills in Kentucky. I have lived on the same farm for 44 years and have therefore ridden all my horses over the same terrain, the mountain trails above our place. I have also hauled horses out to various technical and challenging trails. I've ridden thoruoghbreds, half Arabs, quarter horses, one Morgan, one appaloosa and one Tennessee Walker. Of all the horses I've ever owned the best over all terrain, and especially downhill, is the TWH. From his papers it looks like he was bred for the showring, but this little guy is a tough mountain horse. Oddly, the Icelandic mare I have started this year feels like she may be his equal.
