I hang out on a great truck forum
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php, yes FORDS , there are great 
sites for the others also.
There are lists for the diesels and gassers.

You find out what problems your truck may have that the dealers do not 
tell you as well as the many design defects that may cause real trouble 
for you 100 miles in the outback with the horses in the trailer.

Most of those on the lists are very helpful, any question you want to 
ask, like Cindy C asked.
The response to the question may be quite long.

If your truck is out of warranty, most mods are just fine and will 
improve your trucks performance and safety. Some may impact emissions 
testing.

I have made a number of improvements to my 05 PSD with noted increases 
in performance, reliability, drive ability and fuel mileage.
