Farrier couldn't anticipate what would happen if another horse stepped on the shoe.  And my farrier would have done the same job.  You want the shoe to give instead of bone, muscle, legiments!

Here's what I don't get.  It would be obvious once the horse was back at the finish line that his shoe was bent.  WHY did the trainer say this just wasn't the colt's day and blame the jockey?  

 
 
Exactly.  To me, the jockey was the only one who did the right thing for the horse.  I'd fault the groom and farrier, maybe the owner, but not the jockey.
