I need the quote " Life is not .....


I've seen it worded different ways and no clue who said it, but here's
what it says on the sign that's hanging in my kitchen (people always give
me gifts like this...wonder why? >g<)

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiing, "Wow, what a
ride!!!"

Somehow I get the feeling this one is a slight misquote of the original.

Another one I like, this one was on a T-shirt that someone gave me as a
gift, is:

"I do not intend to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death".

I like the quote a lot, and the T-shirt is a good color for me, but I
keep thinking how the EMT would get a laugh out of loading me on a
stretcher wearing it. I'm afraid it will jinx me. :-)
