Re: [RC] Hay prices across U.S. - Barbara McCrary

I just noticed in a feed store on central coast California on Weds.: Orchard grass hay was $21 a bale (and our horses hate orchard grass hay.)  Alfalfa was a little cheaper, but because we don't feed all alfalfa, I didn't pay much attention.

Subject: [RC] Hay prices across U.S.

I'm curious what people are paying for hay across the U.S. Here in central Arizona, feed store prices are average: Alfalfa, 100# 3-wire $14.99.

                                     Bermuda, 100# 3-wire, $14.50

Orchard/timothy, 2-wire $13.95, 3-wire $18.95 (this grass might be higher by now, I'm afraid to call and find out.)
