For those who want a real accurated look at how the TB racing world works, check out Squires book "A Horse of A Different Color" about his foray into TB breeding (he was a former editor of the Chicago Sun-Times). I had a 3 yr old horse break a leg in my pasture...he is certainly correct in the observation that horses hurt themselves on a regular basis. But they don't always do it enough to kill themselves and they don't do it on TV...
