[RC] Bears on the trail - Sheila_Larsen

The Saturday evening before Easter I was heading down 49 into the canyon
and had stopped at the first large turnout to rearrange groceries. About
two turns later a bear jumped down the steep edge of the road and crossed
right in front of the van, it was before the ranger station. I was looking
down on the back of that bear praying I wasn't going to hit it, vans are
not known for their excellent braking ability. How I didn't hit it I will
never know.

However on the trail I am very grateful for my "mare that stares down
bears." That is her trail darn it and she isn't going move for no
stinkin' bear.
