RE: [SPAM] [RC] Why to Breed - heidi

The worst case i ever saw of 'Why to Breed" was a mare that was laying in a 
stall in a large breeding facility with sores over her body, her coat was 
depleting and mangy and she could not stand up to pee as her legs were 
maligned and disfigured and she had to lay in her own urine.

I asked Why don't you put her down?

The answer was simple.  She was valuable as an embryo transplant as at one 
time in her life she had been a good halter horse and had made a lot of 
money.  They kept her alive for her embryos.  She was not even in her 20's 
and she should have been put down because she suffered so much. 



Winning at halter is a form of "inspection."  And yep, this is where such 
artificial agendas can lead.  Sad.  Very sad.
