Re: [RC] heads up:)/"we've got you covered" if it seems too goodto be true, it just might be - Laney Humphrey

I agree, Beth. I really did post in order to start a discussion and to make people aware of how to be good consumers of USRider's services. If I had thought to ask that the two vehicles be taken two different places, it would only have added to my costs, not USRider's. And, unfortunately, it probably would also have added to the many hours my horse had to spend in the trailer because I don't think the rig that did haul us could have towed only the trailer (I didn't see a gooseneck ball anywhere).

I haven't heard of any other companies that are either willing or prepared to deal with horses. I know -- from personal experience -- that AAA doesn't. They will handle the tow vehicle, period. As far as getting your trailer and horse somewhere safe -- you are entirely on your own.

So, for me, this story isn't that disappointing. The issue of what constitutes a "single issue" is much farther down on my list of priorities than having a company that can and will find one or more tow companies to get me and my horse off the freeway.

One thing that Laney's story as compared to Karen's brought out -- it looks as if it is much better to determine, up front, where each piece needs to go; i.e. truck needs to go to the shop, and trailer + horse need to go home. Then, the dispatcher can determine how best to accomplish that.

well that's disappointing to hear.
i know folks here in the NE who relied on their service and were happy.
i had a ton of troubles with AAA years ago (for personal vehicles not
horse trailers).

but i'm curious, is there an alternative to US Rider? does anyone else
offer this plan? i paid my membership for this year, but perhaps i
should reconsider renewing? seems to me too many crucial items are
left up to an interpretation of US Rider.
