[RC] lame colt/Adequan - Diane Day

The bend equine clinic may be able to take an x-ray of the shoulder, I do
not know if that is closer. We had a young mare that had a nerve injury to
her face and could not chew hay!! She was given soup food for
several months so that she did not chew on it and she has completely
recovered except that some times she pouts funny on that side when she does
not get her way.

The Bend Clinic would be wonderful ..if it were in OK not OR!! Thank you though Adam. I'll take your anecdote as encouragement that if the colt does have a nerve injury, he can improve like your mare did. Thank you Don for your link, I'll will spend some time there. I don't think it is West Nile, Karen, he is far too healthy otherwise. I will look into the Guthrie clinic though as it would be closer than Stillwater. I was hoping that if an x ray could be obtained, and it was a bone chip or fracture in the shoulder - then I would be more willing to put him up, knowing his unhappiness being away from the gang would be worth it. But I think I will try to anyway, like you say Kat, its worth a try. Thanks y'all, for your input.
