RE: [RC] Opinions wanted on Specialized Saddles - Jannelle Wilde & Adam Falk

I purchased a specialized saddle last year and am very happy with it. I
have had 2 things that I noticed. Because of the way I ride the stitching
on the fenders has come out and needed to be re sewn. I have noticed that I
need to pay attention to the shims and adjust them or replace them regularly
because they compact and my horse changes shape. This may be an advantage
compared to a regular saddle where I could not make those adjustments. The
people I purchased my saddle from are in Idaho and met me in Oregon and took
the time to show me the fitting process. It is not complicated but can take
a while to get used to. I have at least two horses that I ride an that was
a major reason I liked the saddle. I have a set of pads for each horse that
I ride regularly. I purchased saddle pads that Velcro directly to the foam
pad from my saddle vender and they work really well. Now when I take the
saddle off I do not have to worry about dropping the pad in the mud.

I purchased my saddle from Lost juniper ranch in Idaho.

Subject: [RC] Opinions wanted on Specialized Saddles

I know I'm opening this up to many comments as all of
us on this list are known to have opinions and to
express them without hesitation!!!
I went by and sat in some of the Demo Specialized
Saddles at the convention and was very impressed with
the rise and the twist (two areas that generally do
not fit me). I'm one of those folks who worry about
if the saddles fits the horse before it fits me.
I also liked the way there was little to no bulk in
between me and the horse's sides.
So that being said.. I'd like to know if folks have
had any problems with these saddles. Most folks who
I've talked to love them, but I want to make sure
there aren't any problems that I don't know about.

Also, how is the saddle fitting process with the
shims? Do you need to have a PHD to get the saddle to
fit right? If so.. then it's not for me!
All opinions are appreciated.. If you want to email me
privately, you are most certainly welcome to do so.
Appalucieataoldotcom Thanks loads!
