My grandfather was the fix it type, loved to
plant a garden, and although he did not ride, he taught me a few things about
my pony when I was a child. One thing he told me, that I have never forgotten,
and have tried to always do was "After a ride, always take care of your pony
(horse) first, before taking care of yourself". I have never forgot that, and
no matter how hungry, tired, or what ever I am when done, I always make sure
my horses needs are taken care of first.
