[RC] my mistake - oddfarm

I'm sorry. I misunderstood this whole situation on the President's Cup. I've been told I don't have a clue and I should let up.

I didn't know that having tons of money made it ok.

Ok to push animals to perform under extreme conditions. Ok because the money is there to research making it possible to push animals to extreme conditions. Ok because the money is there to send them off into "greener pastures" when they can't perform so extremely anymore. Ok because that is the way they do it over there and because they have all that money. Ok to be able to still call it a "sport".

This is what I am hearing from our own members. I'm disappointed and a tad bit scared.

If I had a billion dollars and started running my horses at those speeds, what would you all say to ME? If I told you my vet staff and I did research and found we could make these horses run at that extreme speed what would you say to ME? If I run 5 horses and 4 get pulled for lameness, what would you say to ME? If I tell you all that I found good homes for the 4 that were "retired" what would you say to ME? And if I told you it was OK because that is the way they do it overseas, what then, would say to me?

It all becomes so painfully clear.
