Licorice is the food of the Gods. Not only does it taste great - it is 
good for you! It also makes on heck of a liquor, Anisette, which has a 
very relaxing effect.

I've fed my horse some before. They seem to like it. You can get 
licorice flavored horse treats - I've seen them at Tractor Supply. If my 
horse gets busted for eating a little licorice - that just is just more 
evidence of the idiocy of the AERC drug rule. They are not big enough to 
throw him in jail - and if they did I'd just go bail him out ;-) .
