[RC] weight divisions - mrsd

I think back to 1999 and the national championship 100 in New Mexico. Their
wern't many entries and the MW division was pretty well finished after 50
miles. I rode with Mike Mocilan and we decided to go for a tie as winners of
the MW group. I think that AERC is stll mad about having to give two awards.
I think that we were over an hour behind Crockett and his wife who were way out
front. At least an hour. Have always ridden more slowly than most so feel
that it was great to be tied for first MW. Though I don't think of it as a
great achievemt. Kind of got it by attrition. Did the same thing at Death
Valley overaul for four days.

I think that it would be a great move to go back to two weight divisions. Less

work for vets. Ride managers etc. The Tevis method of awarding BC seems to be
the best amd would solve many problems. The best condition horse to finish in
the top ten would be not decided by some formula as it is at this timw.
