I haven't been there in many years, but I remember it as
very beautiful. However, I do have some friends who bought a home there or
near there. There are legal issues with land ownership in Mexico that you
should really research. I don't remember exactly, but something like that
you cannot buy the land, only get a long lease. My friends had spent a
great deal of time there and spoke fluent Spanish. Nevertheless, they had
an assortment of problems (some related to not living there full-time, an issue
that would not be a problem for you) and ended up losing money.
