[RC] and what about back surgery? - sherman

A riding partner has a bulging disc putting pressure on the nerve and causing a great deal of pain. Can chiropractic treatments help if the bulge is pushing on the nerve, or will my riding buddy need surgery? I know he’s been to a chiropractor already, but maybe needs to try a different one. He was given a shot (MD) and told if that helps at least they’ll know exactly where the pain is coming from and surgery can eliminate it. My husband has a bulging disc with little or no pain at this time, but sometimes has flare-ups that physical therapy and chiropractic seem to help. Is surgery sometimes unavoidable?
