I would fly into Sacramento, especially if you want to go to the Wednesday night BBQ..Truckee is only 1.5 hrs up I-80 from the airport, and when you are at the finish in Auburn, the Sac airport is less than an hour. Otherwise you would have to drive 2 hrs back to Reno.
Truckee is WAAAY small.

My friend and I might go to Tevis next year to work. Need to decide if we want to drive (from Ohio - hahaha!) or fly in and rent a truck. I know there is a small airport in Truckee; is it worth it or best to go to a Major airport? Is Reno the closest one?
