Re: [RC] [RC] Blackwater Boogie - Dawn Carrie

Wow, sounds like it was a wonderful ride...I wish we could have been there!  But we've got a big family thing tomorrow, so couldn't go.  :(  But next year...especially if they have a 100!!!!!

Just got a call from Jody. She & Joni have been on an endurance marathon
weekend and finally got a chance to call. They took 4 horses down to
Florida for the Blackwater Boogie. Joni took Cash Pony and Jody took Rose
for the 75 to finish off their 2007 season, and Joni took Boogie Man &
Jodi took Aries (aka Dummy) for the 50 today to start off 2008.

The big news was Cash Pony took BC in the 75. If you saw how little Joni
weighs you'd know how darned good that little snot pony had to look to
win it. It definitely didn't mean the heavier rider's horses didn't look
good, just that the little red demon likes to trot on air, flag his tail
and scream at other horses during his trot outs (she didn't describe that
but I've seen it before so I'm guessing).  1st place was Cheryl Vandeuson
(sp?) Tying for 2nd: Kim Williams, Brenda (dang, forgot to write down the
last name but rides Slick Willy) and Joni. Jody & Rose pulled.

Today their goal was to get Boogie Man their little 14.1 rescue Arab
through is first 50. Jody is a *little* competitive (in case anybody out
there hasn't figured it out) and she's extremely determined to keep
Boogie Man's progress ahead of 7's so she slid this one in. I don't think
it's fair that she didn't break him first but it's Joni's body not her
own that she's risking so she has an unfair advantage. They finished 19 &
20th in 8:20. This horse was rescued this summer, was a starved stallion
in a field that literally had dead horses. Since the Blackwater Boogie
was a fundraiser for a rescue organization Jody typed up his story to go
on his corral and he was a big hit.

Jody said she'd put Boogie up against 7 in an eating match any day and I
said "You're ON". I don't care what kind of fantasies she has about his
ability to eat...if any of you put any money on that match 7 is your man.
One look at them ought to prove that anyway.

O.K. through reporting for the night. Got to go plot how to use Boogie's
week of rest and my 3 weeks of Christmas vacation to get 7 back in
position to overtake the Boog.

Oh yeah, Jody said they may have a 100 next year. The ride awards sounded
AWESOME.
