I don't agree with the article below however I am not a vet or equine
nutritionist 


I am.  The article is a fine example of "often wrong but never in doubt",
and has more holes in it than a rusty sieve.  Ignore it.  The author is
doubtless well-meaning, but clueless nevertheless.
