[RC] Question regarding LD high mileage awards - Lucie Hess

Perhaps someone can help me with this.  I'm planning
my 2008 ride year and I'm going to be riding LD as I'm
bringing Spanky back from his leg injury..  I like to
have goals to shoot for and since I'll be doing LD,
I'm looking at the high mileage awards.

My question is regarding the LD High Mileage awards,
there is a Regional and a National Award.  I ride in
the Central Region, if I complete an out of Region
ride, say such as a Midwest Region ride, will those
miles go to my Central Region Mileage? 
My understanding is that any LD ride will go towards
the National  Mileage Award.

Years ago when I was riding 50's, someone told me 
that all mileage and placings no matter what the
Region, are counted when tabulating Regional awards
(points).  I wasn't sure that sounded correct to me.


Can someone who is in the know.. tell me what the
"rules" are?  I'd sure appreciate it!  Thanks...
