Once upon a time: there were four of us 'gals' doing a first of the year 
conditioning ride.  I'll elemiate the names to protect the guilty...
We were trotting nicely down a gravel road. Rider #1 did not see the snake 
in the middle of the road, and trotted on by. Rider #2, saw the snake and 
pointed to it excitedly, and trotted on by. Rider #3 exclaimed and did the 
same, but Rider #4  halted her horse and circled back to have a closer look. 
Snake shook his rattler.  Horse of Rider #4 saw the snake and did a 180. 
Rider #4 then had a extreamly close-up view of Mr. Snake....
Fortuantely, no one was hurt...including the Mr. Snake
