Mike, I think Kathy Mayeda's advice was excellent.? Hope you follow it up.? One of the many benefits of my winter dressage lessons is to try to keep me relatively balanced and even.? A physical therapist and a physical rehab doc had input, too.? I was very interested in your need to shorten your stirrups later in the ride.? I'm just the opposite.? At the start of a ride, I feel the need to ride with my stirrups one notch shorter in order to stay balanced over a crazed Arab with race brain.? Later in the ride when he's remembered that he's actually a well trained, broke horse, I lower them back to dressage/distance length to save my knees.
