[RC] LDs - Dawn Carrie

Please, let's not start the fight over whether LDs are worthwhile again!  I honestly don't think there's a single new thought that anyone can put out there, either pro or con, that hasn't been expressed a dozen ormore times in the past.  Can't we just accept that LDs are a part of the AERC big tent?  No, they are not endurance.  Yes they have their place for starting new riders/horses, bringing back horses, older riders, or might just be the preferred cup of tea for some folks.  And there's nothing wrong with that, IMO.  Yes, I know that some start their horses right out in 50s (or 100s)...I'm of that thought now, but wasn't when I began the sport in 1999...I didn't have the knowledge or confidence when I was starting, and no mentor.  So please let's just accept that different people have different ways of doing things, different ways of learning, different levels of confidence.  We're DIVERSE, people!  Let's all play nice together in this wonderful sport!
