Re: [RC] Mariposa Protest filing results in EN - Rebecca Fabiszak

I feel so badly for this poor, innocent QH. My daughters QH, not even foundation bred so not a "Bull Dog" type, got heat stroke just due to the heat, no riding or anything, at 11 am on a Sunday. How unfortunate. I was told by some guy one time that the spur puntures on the side of his Black and White Paint Stallion were there because " He didn't turn fast enough". Sad, very sad. This happens in every arena I am afraid. Beccy

i was also stunned to see that no one lodged a protest against this
horse owner. i understand that the reasoning behind it was that since
he's not an AERC member, the protest and resulting sanctions wouldn't
do much good. i'm not sure what sanctions are available to the
committee, however, i'd think that if only for the sole reason to make
a point and bring this to the attention of others would be a
sufficient reason to lodge the protest.

and to those who say that it can happen to anyone - in my opinion, the
description of the horse's condition, especially presence of spur
marks, speaks to this being more than just a case of accidental
overriding.
