[RC] A perfect illustration - k s swigart

For anybody who would like to have a perfect illustration of a good
reason that endurance will never be an Olympic sport, I provide you with
the following price list that was sent to me as a USEF member with an
opportunity to reserve tickets for the 2010 WEG in Kentucky.

The Deposit prices, per series ticket, are:

Opening Ceremonies $75
Dressage $375
Vaulting $250
Eventing $200
Jumping $375
Driving $150
Reining $300
Para-Equestrian $75
Endurance $25

With the next cheapest event (the opening ceremonies) being three times
the price of endurance, and the biggest draw events (dressage & show
jumping) being 15 times the price of endurance, the fact of the matter
is, there is nothing in endurance riding that many people consider worth
paying to see.

This does not an Olympic sport make.
