[RC] Heating of the *other* kind.. - Ranelle Rubin

Mike,

Have you tried a Tom and Jerry?? You can buy Tom and Jerry Batter at any liquor store, carry a bottle of brandy, and a thermos of boiling water...a TBSP of Batter, a shot (or 1.5, depending on your tolerance-I'm a light weight drinker) and fill the cup with hot water....hmmm

When I lived in Tahoe and rode in the Carson Valley, I left home with a thermos of hot water so I could make these after the ride to warm up...worked great, and made great friends of barn mates!

Well, since you brought up Cap'n Morgan Bruce...

The best hot chocolate recipe was given to me!
1 packet hot choc mix 1 shot Irish Cream
1 shot Butterscotch Schnapps
fill rest of cup with boiling water

Yum, yum, and really warm!

Jen

They now have reusable heat packs that are self-activating and reusable. Check out the Shin-Bio brand, among others. No electricity needed. Just activate the heat pack manually and put it in the sleeping bag with you, and voila'!--no more need to feed a Labrador. They last for a few hours, so you might need two or three to get you through the night. A bottle of Captain Morgan is probably cheaper, though. Dr Q
