[RC] Turkey Trot Cancelled Due to Trail Fires & Trail Conservation - cynthia hambergSubject: Turkey Trot Cancelled Due to Trail Fires & Trail Conservation Hi All: Sadly, I must write that the Easy Come/Easy Go Turkey Trot Ride (PS) is cancelled due to the extreme wildfires ravaging our Southern California area. I had to evacuate my 2 horses late on Monday evening; they are back at the ranch in peaceful, yet smoky, conditions at the moment. However, Dave and Dana Braithwaite are currently managing a horse refugee camp at the Sunnyside Saddle Club in Bonita, CA. with their 7 horses. Their home in Jamul is intact as I write. However, all of our trails in the Jamul area and surrounding trails in Bonita have been destroyed by wildfires...Checks will either be returned, if uncashed, or written to all entries received (i.e., if already cashed) ASAP. Dave and I plan to sanction AERC rides in the future. Thanks to all of you who have attended the Turkey Trot in the past, and to those who planned to do so this year. May all of this tragedy end soon...
