Re: [RC] Which breed is best? - Chrystal Woodhouse

I have a pacer, he is o.k. to ride and has an awesome gaited thing happening that is very comfy as well!!:-)
Standardbreds are awesome But be really , really careful when asking about soundness, I know a few people who have purchased a "sound"Stbrd off the track that weren't. I have been told a  good thing to do is check their race records for clues!:-)
A friend of mine has a pretty, friendly 3 yr old Stdbrd. for sale. :-)

Re: [RC]   Which breed is best?

I'd suggest you consider a Standardbred.  They come off the track broke to
drive and looking for adoptive homes.  The ones I know have amazing
temperments.  They're easy to work with and have really been there/done that
in terms of handling.  They can do endurance, driving and dressage.  Just
look for one that trotted at the track, not paced.

Here's an adoption website: http://www.horseadoption.com/sbavailable.asp
