FW: [RC] Wound care on silly horse - Mike Sherrell

I think the saline solution was supposed to be kind of warm, too. I'm hoping
someone who actually knows something will chime in here, with mixture
proportions for homebrews and proper temp. You can buy saline from
drugstores but in the quantities you'd need to pour over horse wounds 2x/day
it's expensive.

I will second this. My fellow got into barbed wire last year, and I
learned something new from my vet -- plain water can encourage proud
flesh.

I have read more than once that rinsing with a saline solution of
the same
pH as blood is much better than using straight water. Costs, unless
you know
the mix ratio, which I don't. Much better as in, regular water is
to some
extent counter-productive.
