Jay may have experienced some negative attitude somewhere along the 
line, but I volunteered at the GSFTR and I can tell you that Jay and his 
crew were really nice people and they got tons of support and friendship 
during the ride.  But that doesn't make the front page in today's world 
unfortunately.  Jay was determined to prove that non-arabs can be 
successful and he, as well as some others, did that.  Jay was also not 
the only person who rode in chaps instead of tights.  And, Keith, I know 
the vets were trying their best to figure out how to recognize lameness 
in gaited horses.  Some of the vets were already good at it and they 
taught the others what to look for.
