Oh well, I guess I will weigh in here.

I have two horses here at home and two horses at a nearby boarding facility.
There are things to like about both settings.

At the boarding facility, I have a round pen and a beautiful sand arena for
the Icelandic filly I'm just starting.  I have lots of equipment coming and
going to de-sensitize a reactive distance  horse, friends to ride out with
and terrific trail access.

At home, I can catch the "teachable moment".  I can pop out between other
chores.  I can work between rain squalls because they are right out the back
door.  I can monitor them all day long and feed throughout the day if I
needed to.

There are attractive things about having the horses home and about  having
them at a wonderful facility.
