Re: [RC] flexible panel saddles - rides2far

Just looking at it, flex panel or not, it seems that most of the
pressure is going to come through the pedestals where the panels
attach to the saddle but the claim is the panel evenly distrubutes
that force over its surface. Is that correct?

I ride a very old OF. When I had my panels repaired they put the thick
plastic spacers in that were the ancestors of the pedestals. I didn't
like them, felt it concentrated the weight due to some dry spots he got
so I too them out. Later they added those darned pedestals and the
saddles looked like they sat really high up off the back. My friend who
got one of those hasn't like them and has been trying to get up the nerve
to try & remove them. I think they should go back to the original design
and forget those things. All that said, I love my OF.
