RE: [RC] [RC] And you want to know why - Diana Peterson

I find a 12 foot rope SAVE ...and not a hinderance . I also rather touch an abused horse that kicks with a carrot stick, rather then my hand .
You have abviously never had to deal with a horse that was scared out of his mind. By people with 6 foot ropes and hands that beat such a horse.
I have rehabilitaded such horses ....twice now... and i can say i was VERY happy to have my carrot stick and 12 foot rope. Its not about the stick . or flag or whatever people call it...

One of them was my endurance horse.

So it would appear that even Kristi is not completely taking Parelli's
advice to do the opposite of all the other "so-called horse people."

If I took Kristi's post of Parelli's quote out of context, it is because
she quoted it out of context.

So if you want to know why there are many people who are disparaging of
Parelli and his religion, it is because it appears that there are many
of his followers who communicate his stuff out of context.

I haven't seen Parelli himself, or his wife, so I cannot speak to what
he thinks he might be teaching, but I HAVE seen many of his students and
certified instructors. So I don't know what Parelli says, I only know
what people say he says; and I have not been impressed either with what
they say or with how they work with horses.

p.s. You don't need an ill designed orange stick that will give
virtually anybody who holds it by the handle tendonitis to extend your
arm to work with a horse, if you are any good at all, your arm should be
totally sufficient. If the guy had employees instead of independent
contractors and people who pay for the privalege of using his equipment,
that thing would be an OSHA violation...note the lack of smiley face
here, no joke. Can you say "tennis elbow?"

And virtually everybody I have ever seen working their horse with a 12'
rope is almost totally inept with it as it is too long to be handled
adeptly so people are fumbling around with the rope instead of paying
attention to their horses, and almost all of them either have their hand
in a bight or it is dragging in such a way that they are likely to trip
over it. So this might end up as an OSHA violation too. Can you say,
get dragged by your horse?
