Re: [RC] [RC] Reality bites - Maryben Stover

I suppose I am just lucky.  Our local company, San Jose Tallow is there the next day.  I don't even have to be here.  They have the gate combo and they bill my vet and I pay him.  We have been lucky that when we have had to euthanize a horse/mule, it has been done at night and we cover them with a tarp and they are picked up early the next morning.

The San Jose Tallow drivers are some of the nicest and most caring people I have met.  They have a horrible job and they do it with a great deal of kindness.

I wish we did still have the old places.  We used to have a place called Pimentals.  Mr. Pimental would put the animals that were brought to him in a really nice grass pasture until he had a bunch and then call whoever it was.  I think they were shot.  This was a little before my time but I do remember when he retired and he was a really nice old man who likewise had an unpleasant job.
