There are few spots in the Bitterroot where the water table, that flows into the Bitterroot River, is not almost at ground level much of the year. A horse burried there would contaminate one of the best trout streams around. Not something that anyone wants to do.

At the risk of repeating myself uselessly. Those who claim that it is immoral to eat any horse or even their own horse, should ask themselves the following question: "How hungry and starving would my child have to be before I killed my horse or dog and fed it to them?" This is the true reality that does bite.

We are extremely lucky to live in a rich country during a peaceful time. Such times and places are rare in the history of the human race.
