 What does it mean when the front of your upper legs (thighs) hurt 
like heck after a 100 mile ride? 

Gee Paul, if I had ever done *Tevis* I might be able to guess!!!  OK,
personal opinion, I think that's the muscle we use to make ourselves
lower down *gently*  when we post, which is why I am incapable of
lowering myself down a stair, or a curb or anything else for a few days
after a hard ride.  If you'll go backwards down the stairs and walk
backwards down hills it won't hurt, but people look at you funny. I had
to explain to my neighbor why I was backing down the hill with a
wheelbarrow with a bale of hay in it.
