[RC] ?'s about multi-days - Dream Weaver

Can you poultice at night between rides?

You can as long as you aren't using anything that is on the not allowed list with AERC. (such as menthol, MSM, etc.) I've done a lot of multidays and have yet to wrap or poultice.

How does the pre-rides vetting work?

That will depend on the vets at each ride. Most of the ones I have done require you to check again in the morning if you are riding the same horse. Almost all require at the very least a trot-by, even if you vetted out successfully the day before.

I would also accept any great advice from people who have experience.

Learn from others that are successful at what you want to do -- while using common sense and being realistic about it. If it's your horses first multiday be conservative.

I like to walk my horses every few hours during the night. Even if they are able to move around, I have found that walking them frequently really helps to stimulate their appetites and gets them to drink extremely well.
