[RC] Z-TEC (was: Pan Ams) - k s swigart

This is one of the 'fallouts' from the FEI decision in 2006 to only
allow each Federation to field one team of 4 riders for continental
championships. The US (and other Federations) can no longer field a
team of 4 from each region.

That such an event can never occur again does
*not* represent any kind of progress toward anything.
The sport is poorer for its loss.

The loss of the PanAms where each zone was allowed to field a team is
what this year's Z-TEC (Zone Team Endurance Challenge) ride is supposed
to remedy/replace. I would suggest that people who are disappointed in
the loss of the FEI's decision to disallow the participation of all the
US and Canadian "zones" at the Pan Am support the Z-TEC ride being put
on by Jan Stevens.

If this ride IS supported, then "such an event" will be able to occur in
spite of the FEI's decision.
