If I remember correctly, beet pulp contains oxalic acid. Oxalic acid will complex Ca and thus make it less bioavailable. The last time this came up, the fear was that it would cause low Ca.

My bottom line: Feed the stuff as part of a balenced diet and don't get your knickers in a twist over this possibility.
